Georgetown to Meet With Future Students at Discover Education City Event

The Georgetown University in Qatar (GU-Q) admissions team will be showcasing the benefits of a Georgetown education at the upcoming Discover Education City event. The event, organized by the Hamad Bin Khalifa University (HBKU), will be held on October 10 and 11 at the HBKU Student Center. It will allow prospective applicants to find out more about the unique student experience available at Education City.
The event will be open to the public from 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. on October 10 and 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. on October 11.
"We are pleased to partner with Qatar Foundation to highlight the world-class higher educational options here at Education City,” said GU-Q Director of Admissions, Joseph Hernandez. “We are looking forward to meeting with potential students and their parents and to introduce them to the opportunities that come with a Georgetown education.”
Interested students can meet at the GU-Q booth to find out more about campus life, extracurricular activities, and GU-Q’s Bachelor of Science in Foreign Service (BSFS) degree. Students at GU-Q’s Education City campus follow the same curriculum as their peers at Georgetown’s Main Campus in Washington, D.C., and can major in one of four areas: Culture and Politics, International Economics, International History, or International Politics.
The internationally recognized undergraduate BSFS degree enables graduates to critically analyze, communicate, and make decisions in a rapidly changing global landscape. Since GU-Q’s first class graduated in 2009, alumni have ventured into every industry—from diplomacy to energy, education, finance, and media.
GU-Q admissions staff at the event will be able to answer questions from students who would like practical advice on the application process and financial aid. Attendees will also be able to find out more about other upcoming events and workshops, including GU-Q’s own Open House, which will be held on November 20. Interested students can find more information and registration details on the Georgetown website: https://www.qatar.georgetown.edu/admissions.
