Attractively priced phones: The Gigaset A120 and Gigaset A220 are powerful entry-level models

Gigaset offers quality products at an affordable price in the shape of two new cordless phones aimed at first-time users, the Gigaset A120 and A220. Apart from the remarkable price, ease of use and wide range of features, both devices embody Gigaset’s familiar high quality and are “Made in Germany.”
The A120 and A220 round off the lower end of Gigaset’s product range. As well as being attractive to look at, both phones feature an easy-to-read, illuminated matrix display and large buttons with a clearly defined pressure point. The A220 also has a convenient handsfree function and impresses with chrome navigation key, a silver keypad, an illuminated key for taking calls and enabling handsfree telephony, and a glossy look in the phone’s upper area. Both devices’ base station can be wall-mounted and are extremely space-saving. It guides the handset precisely and securely when it is removed and replaced. Both the A120 and A220 are already registered on the base station and are ready for immediate use without the need for any further settings to be made. The A120A and A220A variants also offer an integrated answering machine. In addition, up to four handsets can be connected to each base station. “This means that in-house calls can be conducted and that even people on a low budget can enjoy the benefits of using a cordless phone in their house or apartment,” said Mr. Shahzad Ahmed, CEO of Gigaset Communications for MEA & India region.
A further advantage is the low power consumption: talk times of as much as 18 hours and up to 200 hours in standby mode are possible. The A120’s phone book has space for 50 entries and the A220 even has room for 80. Both devices also show up to 25 missed calls with the name or number of the person who phoned and the last 10 contacts are stored in the redial list. The efficient built-in answering machine is the only one in its price class that can record 25 minutes of messages. And users can even check their messages when they are on the move.
Offering ECO Mode and ECO Mode Plus, the Gigaset A120 and Gigaset A220 reduce the transmitting power or switch it off completely once the handset is placed in the charging cradle. “We are responding to the wishes of many of our customers who want to be able to adapt the transmitting power of their phones to their individual telephone habits,” said Mr. Ahmed. “Our ECO Mode Plus, that cuts the transmitting power to zero, is currently a unique product feature in this market.”
The A120 and A220 continue Gigaset's tradition of attractive product design. What's more, in a number of countries, both phones are also available in vibrant colors, so bringing a youthful breeze into the home. The A120 and A220 come in white, red, orange and mid-grey, while the A120 is also offered in a powerful blue. “It goes without saying that we also offer both devices in classic black,” said Mr. Ahmed. For phones of their class, the A120 and A220 have an attractive design, are extremely easy to use, and bring a wide range of useful features. And all this at a knock-down price for a Gigaset phone,” he added.
The new all-round phone is now on sale and costs AED 99.
