Gloria Hotel offers high-speed connectivity for guests with Huawei WiFi technology upgrade

UAE-based Gloria Hotel has announced the completion of a major ICT upgrade project aimed at providing its guests with the ultimate digital experience by enjoying high-speed, secure and reliable wireless connectivity on any device across the hotel’s premises.

Known for its authentic Arabian hospitality and as a landmark on the Dubai Internet City skyline, Gloria Hotel is now fully equipped to cater to the needs of busy travelers seeking uninterrupted mobile connectivity, whether visiting on business or for pleasure. The project saw Gloria Hotel partner with Huawei–a leading global ICT solutions provider—implementing its WiFi technology solutions to provide the largest in-room 11ac WLAN deployment in the UAE.

The new WLAN’s exceptionally wide coverage will not only benefit Gloria Hotel’s guests and clients, but also its connected staff, which require the ability to be online to perform their duties without facing coverage black-spots. This in turn is expected to increase staff productivity across the organization, as further services become digitally controlled.

The cutting-edge technology implementation was installed in partnership with Alpha Data. The extended coverage provides both in-room connectivity as well as outdoor coverage at speed of 1 Gbps.

Due to its consistently high occupancy rates, it was imperative that installation time for the new network caused the absolute minimum disruption for guests and staff alike. To this end, ‘face-plate’ WLAN access points were installed using the hotel’s existing cabling infrastructure in the rooms, which meant there was no requirement for laying of new cables. The benefits of this forward-thinking installation process meant that the upgrade costs to Gloria Hotel were significantly reduced for a seamless, incredibly reliable WLAN solution.
