Gulf Bank is participating in the Gulf University of Science and Technology (GUST) 19th Career Fair as a diamond sponsor. The Career Fair, which aims at connecting GUST students and alumni with potential career opportunities, starts today and ends tomorrow, in GUST campus.

Gulf Bank’s participation and support of the GUST Career Fair comes in line with its commitment to attract young Kuwaiti talent by being the employer of choice. During the fair, Gulf Bank will be represented by a team from its Human Resources department at its dedicated booth.   The Bank invites students, young professionals, and fresh graduates to visit and enquire about current vacancies and learn about working at the Bank.

Mrs. Salma Al-Hajjaj, General Manager of Human Resources at Gulf Bank said in a statement to the press: “Gulf Bank is proud that 66% of our workforce is Kuwaiti and we are committed to increasing that percentage along with increasing gender parity. At the Bank we believe in advancement based on performance and measured on achievement.  We know that investing our employees benefits us all, and we look forwarding to welcoming more talented Kuwaitis into the Bank.”

Mrs. Al Hajjaj continued: “To demonstrate our commitment to future generations, in 2014, the Bank created Ajyal, a graduate development program dedicated to developing a cadre of holistic bankers for the Bank and for Kuwait. The program nurtures young Kuwaitis and provides them opportunities to assume leadership positions in the Bank.  One of the main goals of the Ajyal program is to ensure its graduates excel in their careers and make their mark on the banking and financial sectors. This flagship program is carried out in cooperation with the Institute of Banking Studies.”

GUST Career Fair is one of the most prominent events the university organizes each year as it helps ensure a smooth transition for students into the workforce after graduation. The Career Fair is a unique opportunity for both students and employers alike to make meaningful connections and start their professional lives on the right track.

Gulf Bank will be present to liaise with GUST graduates, students, and alumni and to offer them the opportunity to apply for internships, full-time, and volunteer positions on the spot. The Bank will offer its services, market insights, advice, collect CVs, help students apply online for possible job opportunities, and conduct on-site interviews with candidates.

Gulf Bank always places the importance of its human capital at the forefront of its business investment.  It remains strongly committed to supporting youth events and initiatives to help empower the next generation of Kuwaitis and contribute to the enhancement of the country’s economy.
