The Chairman of Al Habtoor Group, Khalaf Al Habtoor, welcomed His Excellency Robert J.H. de Leeuw, Consul General of The Netherlands at the group head office on Wednesday, November 28. Paul Rayner, Advisor to the Chairman was also present. 

The meeting was aimed at deepening cooperating between the United Arab Emirates and The Netherlands and further enhancing trade and investments opportunities between the two countries. The Dutch economy is reliant on foreign trade and services as well as foreign investments. 

Al Habtoor said, “Dubai’s economy is ploughing ahead. Data out this week show that the city’s economy expanded more than 4 per cent in the first half of the year. I truly believe that Dubai and the UAE is not only the safe haven of the entire region, but of the world.” 

“We are seeing mega deals being announcement almost daily and European investors are waking up to the country’s growth potential again. We welcome any collaboration with The Netherlands.” 

The UAE is home to more than 5,000 Dutch nationals spread across all major industries from banking, business, aviation and education.
