HE Hala Badri, Director General of Dubai Culture and Arts Authority (Dubai Culture), visited Alserkal Avenue in Al Quoz Creative Zone to tour the ninth edition of Quoz Arts Fest activities that returned with a set of artistic activities held on 29 and 30 January 2022, activating the creative neighbourhood of Al Quoz and in celebration of homegrown creatives from the region.

During the tour, Badri was also joined by His Excellency Abdelmonem Alserkal, Founder of Alserkal Avenue. The tour began with the festival's highlight exhibition, Gaia, a touring artwork by UK artist Luke Jerram.

The tour also included the back lane of Alserkal Avenue, where she visited Verses in Reverse, an interactive work by Augustine Paredes, which is part of Alserkal Arts Foundation’s Homecoming | A space for you, curated by Janine Gaëlle Dieudji. The tour then took a turn on lane 3, taking in Warehouse 421 and Caretech activations.

After that, Badri walked through lane 2 and visited 'In Suspension,' located in Warehouse 50, an exhibition by Zayed University and supported by DP World. Badri ended her tour in lane 1, where she visited another exhibition within the Homecoming series and the Swatch Art Peace Hotel, a guest project in Warehouse 82 that displays innovative works by artists who previously resided in the hotel.

Badri praised the festival, which she described as a fun and cultural carnival in Al Quoz Creative Zone supporting local and global talents and celebrating culture and arts. It affirms Dubai Culture's support for this distinguished annual event, a forum for global cultures and creativity, enhancing the brilliance of the emirate's flourishing creative scene every year.

Dubai Culture is the governmental authority entrusted with preserving and disseminating Dubai's rich heritage, nurturing creative talent, and supporting cultural diversity in the emirate, which contributes to empowering the cultural and creative sector as a tributary of the local economy and cementing Dubai's position as a global centre for culture, an incubator for creativity, and a thriving hub for talent.
