40 HCT-Dubai students participate in SAP CodeJam Competition and training session

Around 40 female students from the HCT-Dubai, Women’s Campus, and HCT – Sharjah Women’s College participated in the SAP CodeJam Competition and training session.
The competition and training session were oganised by the Higher Colleges of Technology-Dubai (HCT-Dubai), Women’s Campus, in collaboration with SAP MENA.
The training was a hands-on session to all students and faculty on the SAP HANA Studio via the Cloud. Students developed HANA based data model with multiple views based on HANA Studio. By the end of the session, HCT Students came up with multiple ideas on how to leverage SAP HANA.
SAP CodeJam is a 5 to 6 hours hands-on coding and networking event where attendees share their knowledge and collaboratively develop with SAP technologies, platforms and tools in a fun and casual environment.
Ian Thain, a senior SAP Developer – Evangelist from UK, who presented an introductory session on SAP HANA, said, “SAP is promoting developer relations and developer technologies. We are working hard to make investigation and learning easy”. Anne Rosenberg, Head of Global SAP University Alliances, SAP AG, Germany said, “Students are the talent for the future and with their imagination the future of tomorrow’s business will take shape. It is a key for the talent of the future that we have many more design graduates, techno-business graduates and women”.
Dr. Nasser Nassiri, Chair of Computer and Information Science (CIS) Department at HCT-Dubai, Women’s Campus, thanked the delegates and presenters from SAP and the students and faculty for making the event successful. He said “The training was about SAP HANA, Mobile and Cloud. SAP HANA is a Business Data Management and resides fully in memory and students had benefited a lot understanding this technology”
