HMC’s ENT Outpatient Department Moves from Hamad General Hospital to the Ambulatory Care Center
This week Hamad Medical Corporation’s (HMC) Ear, Nose, and Throat (ENT) outpatient clinics moved from Hamad General Hospital to the Ambulatory Care Center. The move is part of HMC’s continued efforts to expand services and improve patient care.
The relocation of ENT outpatient clinics to the Ambulatory Care Center follows the transfer of the ENT surgery service from Hamad General Hospital late last year. Patients are now able to receive medical and surgical care for disorders and defects of the ears, nose, throat, head, and neck in a single location.
Commenting on how patients will benefit from the move, Dr. Khalid Mohammed Al Jalham, Director of the Ambulatory Care Center said: “We have been working hard to ensure our patients are able to access the care they need in a single convenient location. With the completion of the ENT move to the Ambulatory Care Center, we are now able to do this. Our new facility is state-of-the-art and I am confident that patients coming here will be extremely pleased with what we have to offer them.”
Dr. Abdul Salam Al Qahtani, Head of ENT at the Ambulatory Care Center, also emphasized the enhanced quality of care patients can expect to receive at the new facility. He said: “Towards the end of last year we began to move all ENT surgery services from Hamad General Hospital to the Ambulatory Care Center. This move is now complete and feedback from patients has been extremely positive. Many of our patients have commented on the excellent care and service received and their satisfaction with the quality of the facility itself. We are now looking forward to providing our ENT outpatients with the same level of care and service and are really looking forward to welcoming them to our wonderful new hospital.”
The Ambulatory Care Center is one of HMC’s three new Hamad Bin Khalifa Medical City hospitals; the hospitals were officially opened in December by His Highness Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al Thani, the Emir of Qatar. The facility, which specializes in outpatient care and day surgery, began welcoming patients last May with the opening of the Podiatry Clinic. To date, more than 40,000 patient visits have been received at the Ambulatory Care Center. In the coming months, additional services will move to the new facility, with ophthalmology outpatient services scheduled to relocate later this year.
