HMC Set to Hold Annual Staff Awards Program

Later this month, Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC) will hold its annual Stars of Excellence Awards and Recognition Program, acknowledging staff success and celebrating accomplishments.

For the eighth consecutive year, the Stars of Excellence Awards Program will celebrate staff successes and recognize excellent teamwork across the organization. The annual awards program invites staff to submit projects worked on over the past year; projects must link to one of HMC’s three pillars of health, education and research and to a subcategory of quality and patient safety, patient experience, clinical practice, operational performance and collaborative achievement.

Out of a total of 480 healthcare improvement projects submitted this year, 15 awards across eight categories will be presented, including the Managing Director’s Award, the Star of Excellence Award and the Rising Star Award, each of which has its own eligibility criteria and submission requirements.

Commenting on the celebration, Mr. Nasser Al Naimi, Deputy Chief Quality Officer for HMC’s Center for Patient Experience and Staff Engagement (CPESE) and Co-Director of Hamad Healthcare Quality Institute (HHQI), said: “This is a great opportunity for us as healthcare leaders to create an environment where colleagues can recognize and celebrate each other’s success. The awards are a great platform to celebrate and value our employees’ hard work and show them that we do not take this for granted.”

The Stars of Excellence Awards program is in its eighth year. To date, more than 2,000 projects have been implemented and over 200 teams have been recognized for their outstanding contribution to HMC’s success in delivering high quality patient care.
