HMC Psychosomatic Fellowship Program is invited to join prestigious US Body

Rumailah Hospital’s Department of Psychiatry Consult Liaison/Psychosomatic Fellowship Program has been invited to join the prestigious American Academy of Psychosomatic Medicine (APM).

The APM is the main scientific organization related to psychosomatic medicine . It oversees all United States (US) programs and sets the standard for qualifications in Psychosomatic Medicine.

Psychosomatic medicine, a sub-specialty of psychology, is an interdisciplinary medical field studying the effect of social, psychological, and behavioral factors on bodily processes and quality of life.

RumailahHospital’s program, which was only established in June, is the only one in the Middle East to be affiliated with the APM. It will provide HMC fellows with the opportunity to have an E- Mentor assigned by the APM to assist with education and research.
