Huawei reaffirms commitment to Kuwait ICT innovation through its ‘Opening Roads to the Cloud’ IT Truck Roadshow

Huawei a leading global information and communications technology (ICT) solutions provider—organized a nation-wide ICT roadshow dubbed, ‘Kuwait IT Truck Roadshow’, where it shared its global expertise on how Kuwait enterprises can leverage new ICT to drive innovation in the coming five years.

During the roadshow events, Huawei met and collaborated with enterprise leaders across a number of key verticals including Government, Financial Services, Oil & Gas, Healthcare, Education, Internet Service Providers (ISPs) and Telecom providers. The roadshow included several key forums that covered cloud deployment in Public Safety, Financial Services, Oil & Gas and ISP, and addressed challenges that enterprises could face during the transition to a full cloud-based ICT ecosystem that would simplify infrastructure complexities for better agility across their businesses.  

“Huawei has been in Kuwait for more than 10 years now and its extensive investments in R&D have given Huawei a leadership position in addressing these areas. Our commitment to bring leading innovation and knowledge to Kuwait is reflected by this roadshow, and we continue to support Kuwait organizations with insights on new technology trends driven by cloud computing,” Mr. Lizonglun, Huawei Kuwait Enterprise Business Group Director said. “Our commitment to innovation is demonstrated in the investments made for R&D which reached $9.2 billion in 2015, which is over 15 percent of our annual revenue.  This has led Huawei to develop new technologies that place us on the top of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) list of patent submissions with 3,898 patents – that’s 13.2 per cent more than the previous year and 59 per cent higher than the second patent applicant.”

Leading Kuwait bank executives gained insights from the financial forum on banking digitalization & cloud, business continuity, and video cloud storage, while oil and gas professionals witnessed the latest advancements in digital oil field and Internet Of Things (IoT) deployments. The highlight of the roadshow was a keynote speech by Mr. Fan Ruiqi, Huawei’s Vice President of IT Product Line worldwide, who shared his views on how businesses of the future will compete on their data capabilities.  

 “ICT is now empowering the new industrial revolution to change our society, business operations, and our lives. Cloud Computing, Big Data, Mobility, SDN, and IoT, are the enabling forces for the upcoming digital transformations. As of today, public safety is the top priority for many countries. It is not only a standard of living but an essential element in life,” added Lizonglun.

As a leader in new ICT, Huawei unveiled its modern cloud computing and end to end IT infrastructure products and solutions like Converged Storage System, Desktop Cloud Platform (VDI) and Huawei Service-Driven Distributed Data center solution, from its  IT truck which showcased these solutions.

Huawei also demonstrated eLTE and Intelligent Video Surveillance solutions during the event to address public safety concerns mandated in Kuwait recently. Attendees discussed the latest industry trends with Huawei experts and explored transformation opportunities and challenges in the cloud era.

The Kuwait IT Truck Roadshow event extends on Huawei’s commitment to Kuwait to ensure that local organizations are able to leverage the latest technologies to improve their business while enriching society as a whole.
