Huge interest in Empower’s district cooling technologies on first two days of the World Future Energy Summit in Abu Dhabi

The stand of Emirates Central Cooling Systems Corporation (Empower), the world’s largest district cooling services provider, at the World Future Energy Summit (WFES 2016), the leading annual global event committed to advancing future energy and clean technology, which will conclude Thursday (21stJanuary) at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre, received visits from international, regional and local delegations. Representatives of the company updated visitors on its recent achievements and the broader global and regional development of the district cooling industry as far as sustainability and efficiency are concerned.

On day one of the summit, HE Ahmad Bin Shafar, Chief Executive Officer of Empower participated in the opening session along with international, regional and local experts from the local and private energy related sectors.

“Our participation in the summit is part of the directives of HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE, and Ruler of Dubai to diversify energy sources in Dubai and it supports Dubai Plan 2021 that aims to ensure that theenvironmental elements in Dubai are clean, healthy and sustainable,” emphasised Bin Shafar.

International delegations visited Empower’s stand at the exhibitionfollowing an outreach campaign conducted by the company to promote the district cooling technology as an ideal solution of sustainability and energy efficiency. At the stand, Empower also displayed its third district cooling plant in Business Bay that boasts an initial capacity of 20,000 Refrigeration Tons (RT)to be connected to the buildings by the end of March 2016 whereas the balance capacity of the plant will be connected in May 2016.

“The presence of international organisationsat the summit acknowledges the leading role of the UAE in the environmental sustainability sphere,” said Bin Shafar. “We have witnessed in the first two days of the exhibition visits to our stand which shows the greater awareness district cooling is achieving among energy decision makers and specialists as a sustainability alternative to conventional cooling systems.”

Bin Shafar said that the 2015 financial results of Empower will be announced soonand he stressed that, compared with 2014 fiscal year, the company will achieve highgrowth in profits,according to current indicators..

“Leveraging on the past achievements,the growth of Empower will continue in 2016 as far as expansion, availability of services, energy conservation and sustainability are concerned,” he added.

Bin Shafar emphasised that the participation of Empower in the summit goes along with the summit’s primary objective being a leading event committed to advancing future energy and clean technology. He anticipated that the company’s discussions in the summit will lead to pioneering partnerships locally and internationally.

WFES carries great importance, as it contributes to the fight against the global warming, and conservation of natural resources through diversification of energy sources and promoting clean energy. The summit is the most prominent event that provides an ideal platform to debate latest development in renewable energy, energy efficiency and clean energy.
