to a new furniture concept store in Al Ain earlier today. The new IKEA Customer Ordering and Collection point is part of the IKEA brand’s long term strategy to cater for the strong demand for good quality, value for money furnishing products that are conveniently available for the many within the UAE.

John Kersten, Managing Director – IKEA UAE, Qatar, Egypt and Oman said: “Over the last almost 25 years of being in the UAE, we have received an overwhelming response from residents here. During this time we have always strived to make consumer interaction with the brand as seamless as possible. Through the release of our annual Catalogue, the website and online shopping, mobile apps providing extended content and augmented reality functionality, online planners, social media channels, IKEA FAMILY loyalty program together with the stores themselves, we aim to create an enriched consumer journey.  The Customer Ordering and Collection point is yet another channel to help improve the lives of the many by bringing the IKEA brand even closer to the residents of Al Ain and surrounding areas.”

Even though this type of store is popular in other countries around the world, the IKEA Customer Ordering and Collection point in Al Ain is a concept new to the UAE. Located next to Bawadi Mall, the 2,500sqm store provides consumers with a complimentary function as an extension of the larger IKEA stores located in Dubai Festival City and Yas Island Abu Dhabi. Around 2,500 products will be available for viewing at the Al Ain concept store and through the Catalogue with the full range of over 7,500 products online at www.IKEA.ae. Purchases may be made either at the store or online and can be collected after 2 days with free delivery and assembly available on minimum purchases or for a small fee.

“We are very excited about bringing the IKEA Customer Ordering and Collection point concept to the country. Historically, the UAE is an extremely dynamic market that adapts well to new formats. The model for this concept store also makes an addition to the existing IKEA list of innovative avenues we’ve launched into the market and a clear testimony to the fact that IKEA has strong faith in the UAE and aims to delight the customer for a long time to come,” added John.
