InterContinental Hotels Group Dead Sea Hotels Training Academy hosts awareness sessions in Al Ghor

Last month, with the support of the Economic Growth Through Sustainable Tourism Project in Jordan, Jordan Hashemite Fund for Human Development and Ghor Al Mazraa Club, the InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) Dead Sea Hotels Training Academy conducted a series of awareness sessions in Ghor Al Mazraa and Al Shouneh Al Janoubieh.

During the sessions, representatives of the Academy shed light on its work and objectives among those residing in the Academy’s vicinity. The awareness sessions aimed at encouraging nearby residents to register their sons and daughters at the Academy, given the numerous benefits it offers in terms of helping participants to find suitable job opportunities within the tourism sector as soon as they complete the required training period.

Moreover, a number of residents who had attended the Academy shared their success stories and spoke of the support they received from their families, which enabled them to complete the training period and get a job. Among the speakers was Walid Ja'arat, who lives in Al Shouneh Al Janoubieh and began his career as an intern at IHG Dead Sea Hotels Training Academy. Ja’arat has gone on to become a professional trainer at the Academy, helping to coach the area’s residents and develop their skills. At the end of each awareness session, attendees were granted the opportunity to register at the Academy, which proved to be a successful step that saw more than 200 young men and women apply for training.

“One of the main objectives of the IHG Dead Sea Hotels Training Academy is to provide Jordanian youth with the skills and knowledge they need to work in the hotel industry. We held these awareness sessions to familiarize parents with the Academy’s work so they may urge their children to join and undergo the training programs we have on offer,” explained Firas Irsheidat, Area General Manager for IHG Dead Sea Jordan Hotels. “In doing so, we not only ensure that participants benefit from available job opportunities, but also guarantee a pipeline of qualified employees is available for the tourism sector.”
