Jazeera Airways is building a new generation of Kuwaitis for the Aviation Industry

JAZEERA Airways, the first private airline in Kuwait and the Middle East, recently announced the launch of its Graduate Development Program (GDP), aimed at growing the Kuwaiti talent in the aviation industry.  GDP consists of a six-month training program across various divisions in Jazeera Airways.  At the end of the program, graduates will have a full understanding of the commercial aviation business and technical fields and expand their employment opportunities in the private sector.

This pioneering, ambitious program is open to fresh graduates from a wide range of disciplines seeking hands-on professional experience working with best-in-class companies committed to providing the young generation with opportunities to deepen their knowledge and skills in a competitive environment. It also serves as a mandatory passage of all entry level employees at Jazeera Airways.

Thirty successful candidates were selected to join the GDP program, who now are part of Jazeera’s Human Capital.  The program runs through three different phases – each providing a unique learning opportunity. During the first month, the participants are introduced to Jazeera’s policies and procedures, code of conduct, employee manual and management principles. The second phase, which runs over 4,5 months, sees the participants rotate across the various departments – Engineering, Sales, Marketing, Finance, Safety, Human Resources, Flight Operations  Ground Handling, Flight Control, among others –  to obtain a 360 degree view on the airline business and hands-on experience. In the final phase, the graduates receive technical training on the operating procedures in the aviation industry.

Upon successful completion, all high potential participants are offered the opportunity to be part of Jazeera Airways career progression scheme.

This program serves as a testimony to the Jazeera Airway’s trust in the young generation and its drive to continuously inject new energy to its remarkable work-force.

Commenting on the GDP, Dr. Rami Al Semaani, VP Human Capital at Jazeera Airways, said: ‘We are committed to helping shape the future of the Kuwaiti youth and this dynamic training program is an ideal vehicle to achieve this. Since its inception, the program has attracted thousands of candidates demonstrating the willingness of our country’s graduates to acquire new skills and their trust that Jazeera Airways is their partner in growth.’

The Graduate Development Program falls under the Jazeera Airways Corporate Social Responsibility strategy, which places great importance on promoting education, innovation and creativity. The airline remains committed to supporting value-adding projects in the future as it seeks to create positive change and remain an inspiration to its society.
