The Jordanian Integrity and Anti-Corruption Commission (JIACC) held several meetings since its launch last July with the aim of  showcasing the challenges faced by anti-corruption efforts in Jordan.

Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Knowledge Forum (TAGKF) hosted a discussion by JIACC in which members analyzed the causes of anti-corruption weakness, its workable instruments in an effort to set proposals and recommendations necessary for boosting integrity, transparency, anti-corruption protection and instruments for combating it. They affirmed that the framework is not only limited to the government, but also extends to include the private sector and civil society organizations which play a key role in this field.

During one of the meetings, the Forum’s Chairman HE Dr. Talal Abu-Ghazaleh stressed the importance of  the National Integrity Charter (NIC) and the (Executive Plan), and the 2013 First and Second Monitoring and Evaluation Report of the Royal Integrity Commission.

Osama Al Azzam, Head of Rasheed Coalition for Integrity and Transparency, said that the main objective of the committee is to support the Forum’s vision to push society towards becoming a knowledge-based one with the goal of  increasing  gross domestic product (GDP) to $200 billion by 2040.

Al Azzam called for the necessity of reviewing the National Strategy for Integrity and Anti-Corruption 2017-2025 as a stepping stone for the activity of the committee, in addition to reviewing “Evaluation of the National Integrity System of Jordan 2016”. He also invited members to offer their suggestions and ideas for the development of the committee's work and  swift achievement of its task to the highest standards.
