Khalifa University discusses innovation in teaching science, technology, engineering and mathematics courses

Khalifa University organized today a  Workshop at its Abu Dhabi campus for science and mathematics teachers from a variety of UAE public schools.

The goal of the workshop was to discuss modern and innovative methods of teaching science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) in order to encourage more students to pursue science related careers.  

Teachers attended several panel discussions which looked at reasons behind the trend of students choosing Arts over Sciences, what teachers are currently doing about this, innovative techniques for teaching STEM that have had a positive impact and challenges and issues faced.  

Several members of Khalifa University’s faculty took part in the discussions, as did several PhD, Masters and undergraduate Students. 

“We welcome all teachers today to Khalifa University’s campus”, said Dr. Mohammed Al Mualla, Senior Vice President for Research and Development, “We are committed to engaging the broader community by organizing events like this. It’s an opportunity to make positive contributions and to share and discuss our mutual challenges. It’s important that we work together to find innovative solutions to help fulfill the vision of Abu Dhabi 2030 plan.”
