Japanese Ambassador visits Khalifa University to meet “Robot Creator”

Khalifa University announced today that H.E. Yoshihiko Kamo, Ambassador of Japan to the UAE, visited their Abu Dhabi campus on Monday, December 17^th, 2012, to watch a demonstration by world renowned “robot creator” Professor Tomotaka Takahashi. 

Prof. Takahashi was visiting the University to host a workshop for students. Prof. Takahashi actually makes robots from A to Z all by himself. He currently holds several senior positions such as Researcher, Associate Professor at University of Tokyo, Visiting Professor at Fukuyama University and Visiting Professor at Osaka Electro-Communication University. He was a world champion of the “Robo Cup” from 2004 to 2008 and one of his robots was chosen as “Coolest Invention 2004” by Time magazine. 

The event was organized by Khalifa University’s Robotics Institute and the Nippon Club, a student club that explores Japanese culture.
