As a part of its longstanding commitment to supporting sports and youth-centered initiatives in the Kingdom, National Arab Motors (Kia Jordan) sponsored the Zarqa Education Zone Running Race organized by the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA). The event was held on Thursday, November 17th.

The race, which commenced at Al-Sukhna area, enjoyed the participation of 140 students and 16 teachers from the schools operating under UNRWA within the Zarqa Education Zone. At the conclusion of the event, honorary trophies and medals were disseminated to the winning teams and their members, who will in turn qualify to compete in a final race slated for December 8th 2011 in the area of Al-Karama.

Kia Jordan’s contribution stems from the company’s awareness of the importance of athletic initiatives organized for school students, which deliver a positive impact on their social skills and their way of life. “These activities,” commented the company’s President Samer Tayeh, “receive the larger portion of our CSR efforts as they strengthen the spirit of youth amongst participants – the spirit of youth being an integral element for the Kia brand in both its design and market segmentation processes.”

UNRWA organizes annual races in the areas under its operational jurisdiction - which include parts of Zarqa, northern and southern Amman, and Irbid - with the objective of reinforcing sportsmanship and collaborative spirit among participating students.
