King Abdullah Economic City Hosts The 5th Hog Saudi Rally
King Abdullah Economic City (KAEC) hosted the 5th HOG Saudi Rally which was planned and organized by the Jeddah Chapter Harley Owners Group with the support of the Harley Davidson sponsoring dealer. Most of the 1.2 million strong Harley Davidson chapters worldwide hold their own annual rallies and the Jeddah Chapter 2014 rally was no exception, scoring extremely well by MENA norms with more than 450 bikers participating along with their families.
“We are thrilled that KAEC was chosen as the destination for this exciting event,” said Mr. Fahd Al-Rasheed, Managing Director and CEO of KAEC. “The HOG Rally is one of a kind in the kingdom and in addition to the HOG members in Saudi Arabia, the event attracted bikers from across the GCC and the rest of the Middle East, some which travelled from Africa and Europe.”
Mr. Mohannad Al-Kayyali, 5th HOG Saudi Rally Leader, thanked Mr. Al-Rasheed and all KAEC members for their support in hosting the event and said: “We planned this Rally to showcase our country and we are honored that the event was supported by the Saudi Commission for Tourism and Antiques, as well as numbers of leading private enterprises sponsorships.” He went on to say: “This rally was exclusively for HOG members and their families, and we chose to hold it in King Abdullah Economic City because we saw the ideal destination for such an event, KAEC’s location with its facilities and arrangements were extremely perfect, allowing us to offer a variety of entertaining activities not only for bikers but for women and children of all ages.”
In addition to bike rides which took place on day one and two, there were other activities such as the famous bike show and the highly popular bike games; where bikers got to showcase their precious Harley Davidson bikes as well as flaunt their superior riding and maneuverability skills. Activities for kids included swimming, bowling, hamster ball, foam football and tele match, while ladies enjoyed aerobics and zumba private sessions with certified trainers, jogging, beach volleyball, swimming and many more activities.
The event was covered by full precautionary safety measures including two ambulances available all the time with a third on call 24/24.
