Lexus Jordan, represented by its exclusive dealer in the Kingdom, Central Trade & Auto Company (CTA), was named the main sponsor for Art Week Amman (AWA), which was launched on September 5th, with activities extending until September 15, 2013.

This sponsorship came into effect following an agreement signed by Lexus Jordan, represented by its exclusive dealer in the Kingdom, CTA and Jordanian Arts and Entertainment Management Company ArtMedium, also known as the organizing arm of AWA.

Commenting on the resulting alliance, CTA's Marketing Manager Mr. Nadim Haddad said,” We are very proud to be the exclusive sponsor for this event, as we anticipate Art Week Amman to be a great opportunity to showcase all of Amman’s art outlets and initiatives. We are also honored to play a role in re-shaping the dynamic culture of Amman, and to contribute positively to showcasing Amman as a regional hub for art, culture, and tourism within the international map of art.”

From her end, Founder and General Manager of ArtMedium, Sarah Abu Alia said,” It is a source of pride for us to be partnering with Lexus Jordan, and we thank its exclusive dealer CTA for its generous sponsorship for the event. What brings ArtMedium and Lexus Jordan together in this collaborative effort is their shared interest in aesthetics. It is not hard to see that Lexus Jordan and CTA are well aware of the effects the arts have on people’s day to day lives, given that Lexus is a brand synonymous with an elevated lifestyle, art and ingenuity in the making. With these common understandings in mind, I am confident that this partnership will be the prelude for many more to come.”

With a program set to unite the Kingdom’s leading art outlets, practicing artists, and enthusiasts within a unique multi-faceted setting, AWA offers 11 days of activities spanning all aspects of the arts and involving all members of the community.

Its schedule comprises art exhibitions, art workshops, lectures, and movie screenings, with highlights including; the main exhibition ‘Contemporary Art Exhibition’ which is hosted at the Jordan National Gallery of Fine Arts between September 6th and September 15th 2013.  The exhibition portrays different dimensions which are noted in two themes curated by the French Art Expert Victoria Gandit Lelandais. The first, ‘Nebulous: imagination, dreams & identity search’, is set to guide the visitor to the world inside an artist's head and vision, and the second is titled ‘Graph’Art’. The ‘Contemporary Art Exhibition’ will also feature a solo exhibit by Elmer Dumlao, under the name ‘Paper Play’, in which the artist creates surprising 3D wall installations, exploring the role of paper in our life and it’s contemporary use.

Curated by Nabad Art Gallery, “Design Exhibition” is another exhibition, presenting uniquely designed objects by sixteen talented local artists and designers. The exhibit will be hosted at the National Gallery of Fine Arts. There will also be a curated video exhibition presenting local and international artists titled ‘Video Art at The Jordan National Gallery’. Furthermore, Graffiti artist Wessam Shadid will also create a ‘Street Art Installation’ with Odi Nasrallah and Mike V Derderian, which will be displayed on the second floor in Building 2 of the Jordan National Gallery of Fine Arts.

The Jordan National Gallery of Fine Arts park, will also be hosting part of the action, featuring an exhibition titled ‘Isolation Device’, curated by Hayyez. The exhibit will be reflecting the installations of multimedia art works and performances by 7 multidisciplinary artists who were asked to envision an Isolation Device; a thing made or adapted for the purpose of providing or breaking isolation.

These are just a few of the many highlights AWA has in store for community members interested in the arts.
