LG unveils 9.1-channel cinema sound home theater system with flaw-less acoustic performance

LG Electronics (LG) today introduced its most advanced home theater system to date, the BH9630TW. The industry leading 9.1-channel system offers sound comparable to that found in a modern wireless movie theater. The 1,100W all-in-one home theater system includes Smart TV connectivity options as well as device integration and style to suit any modern living room.

Providing Superb Acoustic Experience

The BH9630TW delivers an industry-leading 1,100W 9.1-channel system that belts out an uncompromising auditory experience. Although the BH9630TW supports 9.1 output channels, the entire system includes the same number of speaker units as a standard 5.1-channel system. Four multi-directional standalone speakers help sound fill the space completely to create a level of sound immersion that rivals that of a conventional cinema. In addition, LG’s 3D Surround Processor analyzes the source and distributes the sound in multiple directions while keeping the appropriate balance levels. 

LG also opted for a higher-end materials package by employing Aramid fibers in the construction of the speaker cones. Formed into a thin membrane, this very strong, highly heat resistant material naturally enables a wider range of sound while maintaining near-zero distortion. Aramid fibers are well-known for its tensile strength and are commonly employed in Kevlar body armor and professional hockey sticks. It can also prevent tears and warping in speaker cones that could severely compromise sound quality. 

Enhanced Connectivity, Limitless Content and Intuitive User Experience

The BH9630TW does more than simply offer great sound; it also serves as a hub with a wealth of connectivity options, including Miracast, which is based on Near Field Communication (NFC). Miracast allows users to wirelessly and seamlessly mirror content from smartphones or other external devices. The BH9630TW is also equipped with Smart TV capabilities, supports web browsing, provides access to LG Cloud and allows content to be streamed from a raft of virtual storage devices. Apple product users will also be pleased to learn that they can charge their devices on the BH9630TW as well as access and play stored content. Conversion technology is also taken care of -- the BH9630TW enables LG’s 2D to 3D conversion option, which reinterprets 2D content and renders it in 3D. Likewise, when connected to an Ultra HD TV, the Ultra HD upscaling feature takes ordinary content and renders it in clear, crisp Ultra HD (3,840 x 2,160) resolution. 

The system’s user experience is easy to navigate, making complex tasks seem intuitive. As such, the BH9630TW overcomes the compatibility and task-complexity problems that plagued more primitive home theater systems. At the same time, small touches such as the USB connections for a mouse and keyboard give the user the flexibility to manage content as he or she sees fit. The BH9630TW also offers a new feature for late night viewing; the Private Sound Mode lets customers feed the system’s sound directly to their smart phone via Wi-Fi to ensure that the rest of the family stays fast asleep.
