London Institution of Civil Engineers Grants Fellowship Certificate to UAE Minister of Infrastructure Development
His Excellency Dr. Abdullah Belhaif Al Nuaimi, Minister of Infrastructure Development and Chairman of the Federal Transport Authority – Land & Maritime, has recently received a fellowship certificate from the prestigious London Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE). The certificate was presented to the UAE Minister by the President of the institute, in the presence of Rawdha Al Otaiba, Deputy Head of Mission at the UAE Embassy in London; along with 30 students who are studying in the London campus.
This certificate, which is the highest membership degree to practice civil engineering, is granted to engineers based on their extensive experience and achievements in the civil engineering, as well as their degree of professionalism, leadership and professional excellence. In response, H.E Al Nuaimi praised the ICE for its implementation of strategic activities and programs that have been designed to elevate engineering practices in the UK and rest of the world.
H.E. described ICE as a rich source of knowledge, especially for Emiratis studying Civil engineering, through the great support and encouragement that it provides for them to continue their professional development, training courses and collaterals along with other benefits such as career development opportunities and access to a wide network of professionals and knowledge resources among others.
The London ICE Fellowship certificate is only awarded to a select number of engineers worldwide, based on their remarkable professional achievements and contributions to civil engineering.
Background Information
Federal Tax Authority
By virtue of this Federal Law by Decree a public federal authority shall be established under the name of the Federal Tax Authority. The headquarters of the authority shall be located in the city of Abu Dhabi. The authority shall be in charge of managing and collecting federal taxes and related fines, distributing tax-generated revenues and applying the tax-related procedures in force in the UAE.
The authority shall be managed by a board of directors chaired by the Minister of Finance and a sufficient number of members to be appointed and remunerated by a Cabinet resolution, based on the chairman’s nomination. The authority shall have an independent annual budget that shall be deemed as public funds and exempted from all taxes and fees.
