Marriott international hotels in Jordan donated $98,000 to support earthquake victims in Turkiye and Syria

Marriott International Hotels in Jordan, under the Jordan Business Council (JBC), have united in a remarkable display of solidarity through the "Day for Life" initiative and as part of this heartfelt endeavor, successfully raised USD 98,000 to aid earthquake victims in Turkiye and Syria.

The participating hotels in this compassionate cause include The Ritz-Carlton Amman, St. Regis Amman, W Amman, Al Manara - A Luxury Collection Hotel, Saraya Aqaba, Amman Marriott Hotel, Dead Sea Marriott Resort & Spa, Petra Marriott Hotel, and Sheraton Amman Al Nabil Hotel.

Through the “Day for Life” campaign, Marriott International Hotels in Jordan encouraged their associates to donate their vacation days for a good cause. The associates responded with overwhelming support and enthusiasm, and their collective efforts enabled them to collect a significant amount of funds to support those affected by the earthquake.

The Donation Handover Ceremony, which took place at the Amman Marriott Hotel on May 9th, 2023, was graced by the presence of distinguished representatives including Safak Guvenc, Area Vice President GLT; Philip Papadopoulos, Multi Property General Manager; Erden Kendigelen, Multi Property General Manager and JBC Chairman; Muhannad Hameed, General Manager of Dead Sea Marriott Resort & Spa and JBC Subcommittee Chair; Laith Naber, General Manager of Amman Marriott Hotel; Dimitrios Kotsifakos, General Manager of Sheraton Amman Al Nabil Hotel; Sena Kahraman, Multi-Property Director of Marketing Communications and JBC Communications Subcommittee Chair; Mr. Mohammad Al Kilani, a member of the executive committee of Jordan Hashemite Charity Organization (JHCO).

Furthermore, on May 15th, Marriott International Hotels in Jordan collaborated with the Jordan Hashemite Charity Organization in coordination with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Affairs and the Jordanian Armed Forces to dispatch a 14-ton food aid plane to Kahramanmaraş, Turkiye for the Red Crescent. These donation boxes, primarily consisting of food supplies, will play a vital role in helping alleviate the suffering of those impacted by the earthquakes.
