Mashreq Al Islami, the Islamic banking division of Mashreq announced its role as an Associate Sponsor of the International Summit on Islamic Corporate Finance 2011.
The summit, which is taking place in Le Royal Meridien in Abu Dhabi on the 10th and 11th October 2011, will bring together senior Islamic bankers and corporate borrowers to discuss the various challenges and opportunities in the industry.
Moinuddin Malim, CEO of Mashreq Al Islami will be participating as a panelist at the ‘Assessing Key Market Opportunities for Islamic Corporate Finance’ session.
Moinuddin Malim, commented, “Islamic Corporate Finance and Syndication is an integral part of the over banking & finance industry. While the number and volume have decreased from the high of 2007, Islamic finance is well placed to take advantage of various pockets of opportunities in many Middle Eastern countries including the Arab Spring Countries. As various jurisdictions seek to diversify their economies, Islamic finance can play an ideal role by acting as a conduit to route the domestic funds through various channels including issuance of domestic Sukuks. UAE, which has always been the hub of regional trade, is well positioned to take advantage of this growth.”
