Middle East Forum on Quality and Safety in Healthcare Announces Most Extensive Education Program in Six Years

The Middle East Forum on Quality and Safety in Healthcare, the premier quality improvement forum for healthcare professionals in the Arab world, has announced that its sixth event will provide the largest and most comprehensive program developed to date, with over 50 lectures and workshop sessions delivered by local and international experts in improvement science.

The annual Forum, held this year from 23 to 25 March, 2018 at the Qatar National Convention Center in Doha, has become a platform for healthcare improvement learning and knowledge exchange.  

This year’s Forum includes sessions focused on patient experience (patient-centered care); the benefits of what is now an internationally recognized concept known as ‘joy at work’; promoting the use of improvement science to drive meaningful and far-reaching changes that will improve health and healthcare, a special focus on patient flow; learning about establishing an environment designed to help reduce harm and preventable mortality to make the healthcare continuum safer; and engaging leaders at all levels in driving results within health and healthcare.

Dr. Ron Wyatt, Chairman of the ME Forum Planning Committee, and Chief Quality Officer at Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC), said the Forum has grown significantly year on year: “This Forum has become a highly valued professional development activity for healthcare professionals in Qatar and the region. Led by HMC in collaboration with the Institute for Healthcare Improvement (IHI), The Middle East Forum provides doctors, nurses, allied health professionals, and science students with  a unique opportunity to collaborate and learn how to ‘Build a Culture of Safety’ within their organization.
