Millennium Resort Mussanah to host second Dragon Boat Festival

After a highly successful 1^st Oman International Dragon Boat Festival held at Millennium Resort Mussanah in May 2015, the resort will officially sponsor and host the second edition from 18-19 September 2015. The event is organized by Dragon Dynasty and registration is now open to join the men’s, women’s, mixed and corporate categories. The festival will include the famous dragon boat racing along with the first stand up paddle (SUP) sprint race, tug of war competition, family carnival, a BBQ party and a fun-packed day for the entire family.

“Our resort is not just the perfect getaway for families, but the Sultanate’s leading host of water sport events. After the first edition earlier this year, we will once again offer industry-leading hospitality services that complement our unique location on the Al Batinah coastline and its pristine beaches. The Festival is open to paddlers of all levels, local and international, with special rates for participants and spectators,” said Maurice de Rooij, General Manager of the Millennium Resort Mussanah.

Accommodation rates for the Dragon Boat Festival Weekend start from RO 70 net for a single/double Deluxe Garden View room or RO 76 for a Superior Sea View room on a half board basis.  Rates are inclusive of 17% taxes and breakfast and dinner daily.

He added, “We have put together a host of packages specifically designed for the event in order to deliver a spectacular experience for athletes and water sport enthusiasts alike.”

Over the years, Millennium Resort Mussanah has emerged as a premier destination for regional sport events having been built on the site of the 2nd Asian Beach Games and retaining the world-class leisure and sporting facilities constructed for the event. Today, its roster of international events includes the FIFA Asian Beach Soccer World Cup Qualifications in 2011, the 2013 Laser World Championships, and the 2014 edition of EFG Sailing Arabia-The Tour, Oman Bike Week 2015, Oman Bike Week 2015 and the 2015 Tour of Oman.
