MODA Mall, Bahrain’s ultra-modern shopping destination located on the ground floor at Bahrain World Trade Center (BWTC), donated more than 60 pairs of shoes to the Al Noor Charity Welfare, and extended its appreciation to Shaikha Lamya bint Mohammed al Khalifa, the President of Al Noor Charity Welfare Association, for her initiatives to support the local needy families.  This initiative comes in line with MODA Mall’s commitment to give back to the Bahraini community in keeping with the approaching holy month of Ramadan, particularly a time where the joy of sharing and giving are celebrated.

The shoes that were donated were part of an exclusive initiative organised by MODA Mall for charity on the sidelines of the vintage shoe exhibition ‘A Shoe Story’ which was held at the mall last month.  The initiative gave shoppers the opportunity to donate shoes of any size for children, men and women via a special donation box placed in the Central Court of the Mall.

The vintage shoe exhibition ‘A Shoe Story’ is a unique vintage international shoe exhibition that travelled to the Middle East for the first time from the Fashion History Museum in Ontario, Canada. The exhibition was held at MODA Mall from 23rd May to 16 June 2012.  During the entire period of the exhibition shoppers and visitors were given the opportunity to drop-off shoes of any size for children, men and women into a special donation box which was placed in the Central Court of the Mall.

More than 80 pairs of footwear spanning the 18th, 19th, and 20th centuries were showcased at the exhibition. This event represents an ideal opportunity for shoe lovers to glimpse footwear worn by Lauren Becall, one of the 50 Most Beautiful People in the World, Ginger Rogers, Hollywood's highest paid star of 1942 and Imelda Marcos, world-renowned for her extensive shoe collection, in addition to other fascinating shoe pieces.

MODA Mall is home to exclusive brand name boutiques previously unattainable in the Kingdom of Bahrain.  The Mall not only provides savvy and sophisticated shoppers with access to the finest designer clothing and jewellery brands, but also the tastes, sounds and sensations of the most glamorous destinations on the fashion map. The Mall also believes in offering shoppers a luxury experience in its dining choices, and currently there’s Patisserie Valerie, Lina’s, Vivel Patisserie, Maki, BiCE Ristorante, and Abd El Wahab.
