Methaq Takaful Insurance Company announced that it has successfully finalized the electronic link in coordination with EIDA, in order to complete all procedures required to issue all types of insurance policies and obtain personal data pertaining to clients through EIDA.

This link, the first of its kind to be implemented by an insurance company in the UAE, will allow MTIC to obtain personal data pertaining to its clients through EIDA. MTIC will avail these data to insurance brokers and banks dealing with MTIC. This approach is tailored to save time and efforts, provide thorough information, and reduce the chance of error when issuing insurance policies to MTIC’’s clients.

Mr. Mohamed bin Hazam Al Dhaheri, MTIC’s Managing Director, has asserted that this initiative translates into reality the UAE leadership’s vision of using the national ID card to complete all transactions in the UAE, and comes in line with EIDA’s vision 2010-2013. He further added that this approach was implemented as part of MTIC’s endeavors to provide thorough insurance solutions and apply the latest technology in this field.

“The activation of the Emirati ID card by MTIC to issue insurance policies, and the successful launch of the electronic link between MTIC and EIDA, will inexorably yield positive results for all parties: the insured, the insurer and UAE vehicle registration departments. This was the main trigger for MTIC to consider with EIDA the activation of the ID card to enter the insured’s data and to implement such approach in order to become a role model in the UAE insurance sector”, said Al Dhaheri.

He further declared that the electronic link process between MTIC and EIDA has resulted in reducing the time spent to issue insurance policies and in speeding up work performance. He also said that MTIC is on the point of training those desirous of receiving training, namely insurance brokers and banks, to use the ID card in entering the insured’s data.
