Nawras supports communities with charitable donations and cultural entertainment

Nawras, Oman’s customer friendly communications provider, is putting smiles on faces by caring for the community in many different ways. This includes improving the quality of life for people with special needs in the Sultanate, participating in the popular Muscat Festival and presenting a concert by one of Bollywood’s top names. 

By contributing wheelchairs for the Oman Association for the Disabled in Sohar and Muscat and supporting an awareness drive by the Down Syndrome Parent Support Group, Nawras continues to provide support for charitable organisations and to highlight the dedication and efforts put into the important work they do every day. 

Khalid Al Zadjali, Nawras Events and Protocol Manager, said, “Nawras continues to partner with non-government organisations to enhance and better the lives of those with special needs. Everyone is a valued member of our society and we are pleased to be able to play our small role in improving lives and providing assistance to those who most need it.  We are known for the annual Nawras Goodwill Journey during the Holy Month of Ramadan but being caring and compassionate is a year round commitment we make to the community.” 

Supporting the cultural developments in the country and as a Gold Sponsor of Muscat Festival 2013, the vibrant and interactive Nawras stands in Al Amerat Park and Al Naseem Gardens welcomed thousands of customers throughout the month long event. Visitors to the Nawras stalls expressed their great interest in the new, faster 3G+ broadband as well as the recent launch of superfast 4G mobile broadband services. 

Nawras also recently delighted Bollywood fans by presenting megastar, Shah Rukh Khan, the ‘King of Bollywood’, who thrilled the audience in Muscat. As one of India’s most famous actors, producers and television presenters, Shah Rukh Khan rocked the ‘Temptations Reloaded 2013’ concert for over 18,000 fans. Khan was joined by equally popular actors Katrina Kaif, Preity Zinta, Ali Zafar and Anusha Dandekar who charmed the crowd during one of the best concerts in Oman which will be remembered by audiences for years to come. 

Al Zadjali added, “Muscat Festival is a very popular social and cultural event in the capital’s calendar and is an excellent platform to reach as many people as possible. The highly anticipated Shah Rukh Khan concert was another example of the top class entertainment that Nawras has presented for the people of Oman. We are delighted that so many members of the community enjoyed the show and festivities.”
