The sessions on offer help to build on the passion for sport and develop the skills that young people need in later life.”
The Summer of Sports programme has taught more than 60,000 participants at more than 350 sporting facilities across the country to date. The sessions help develop new skills and nurture talents while introducing children and youths to new activities and promote the merits of sportsmanship, fair play and team work as well as inspiring creativity and boosting confidence.
With dedicated events for children with disabilities and for young women, the Summer of Sports programme provides opportunities for everyone to take part in healthy pursuits. Every session is conducted by qualified coaches who also offer expert advice on the benefits of maintaining a healthy diet and active lifestyle.
The Clubs Youth Camps provide interesting life skills lessons such as first aid, photography, website design and research skills with guest speakers that include the Ministry of Environment & Climate Affairs, Ministry of Health and Royal Oman Police. The week-long camp will prepare 450 young people aged 18 to 25 for a more active role in society and teach them how to harness their abilities into positive contributions to benefit their community.
