Nawras honoured at 2013 Dubai Lynx Awards for Free WiFi service video

Nawras was recently honoured at the 2013 Dubai Lynx Awards for its free WiFi activation service promotional video entitled Piggybacking. In addition to being short listed in eight categories, Nawras and the company’s advertising agency, Leo Burnett, took home a Silver Lynx award for Use of Digital Media and a Bronze Lynx award for Consumer Services.
As part of the International Festival of Creativity, this year’s Dubai Lynx Awards saw a record of over 2000 entries from 19 countries. Nawras and Leo Burnett were recognised for their successful collaboration in producing a pleasingly different promotional video showcasing the company’s unique approach to customer experience.
Omar Nazih Azar, Nawras Head of Branding & Campaigns, said, “To reflect the capabilities of our new WiFi service, we partnered with Leo Burnett, winner of 2012 and 2013’s Dubai Lynx Network of the Year award. Together we created an activation campaign that illustrates how easy it is for customers to use the new WiFi service at Muscat Grand Mall. It also shows that every Nawras product is designed from the customer point of view working back to the technology and that we partner with leading creative agencies worldwide to give customers the best possible experience with our products and services.”
The Nawras ‘Piggy backing’ WiFi activation service campaign was short listed in eight categories including,Direct (Direct Response Digital Media and Consumer Products & Services), Interactive (Other Digital Channels), Media (Use of Digital Media and Consumer Services), Mobile (Mobile Advertising), and Promo & Activation (Use of Digital in a Promotional Campaign and Consumer Products & Services).
In addition, Nawras was recently awarded a Partner in Progress award by Bank Muscat for its innovative eCommerce service. Each year, Bank Muscat honours merchant partners for outstanding contributions to card business – this was given in 2012 in line with the government’s vision to establish an e-payments culture in the Sultanate. Nawras has successfully introduced a series of new payment channels to help customers recharge and pay for their service electronically through internet banking, ATMs, self- service machines and My Nawras.
