NBAD ranked Best Financial Information Website in Middle East
The National Bank of Abu Dhabi (NBAD), the Number One Bank in the UAE, has been ranked for the second consecutive year the Best Financial Information website in the Middle East in an annual survey by an independent company.
NBAD finished first in Hallvarsson & Halvarsson’s survey of journalists, analysts, and investors in its H&H Webranking evaluation 2011. To rank companies, H&H uses 140 criteria to determine which company's website best meets the market’s demands in disclosure of information and functionality. The annual H&H Webranking is the established international yardstick for companies that want to benchmark their website performance in relationship to other companies.
“Winning this award for second year in a row is an honour because it confirms that the National Bank of Abu Dhabi (NBAD) is committed to transparency and the market ranks NBAD a leader in disclosure,” said Michael H. Tomalin, the Group Chief Executive of NBAD. “NBAD management fully believes that transparency empowers our investors and ultimately strengthens the market, which benefits everyone.”
To keep investors well-informed; be accessible to journalists; and be transparent, NBAD regularly publishes statements, reports, and presentations regarding its activities and releases detailed and timely financial information on the Bank's website (www.nbad.com), which was launched in year 2000 as one of the first websites by any UAE bank.
“NBAD is proud that it is regarded a market leader in transparency and disclosure. NBAD is committed to providing our stakeholders, journalists, and the public efficient means to access vital information about the Bank; naturally the web is a great way to do this,” said Abdulla M.S. AbdulRaheem, the Group Chief Operating officer at NBAD. “We have been recognised many times for our superior disclosure and it is our objective to continuously improve disclosure and transparency.”
NBAD has won the Best Investors Relations Company Award for UAE listed companies from the Middle East Investor Relations Society. The Bank was also awarded the Banking Web Award in the category of the strategic banking website in the UAE by the Pan Arab Web Awards Academy in collaboration with Union of Arab Banks, Microsoft, AYNA, BSA and MSN.
NBAD is ranked one of the World’s top 50 Safest Banks in 2009, 2010, and 2011. In the latest ranking, NBAD was rated the Safest Bank in the Middle East. Euromoney named NBAD the Best Bank in the UAE in 2011 for the third consecutive year and for the fifth time in a decade.
