New awards bestowed on Banyan Tree Hotels and Resorts
Banyan Tree Hotels and Resorts is delighted to announce that over 700 awards and accolades have been bestowed on its Banyan Tree and Angsana brands, pushing the current tally to 761 since the group’s founding in 1994.
Recent awards include: Asia’s Leading Resort Brand at the World Travel Awards 2011 in Bangkok in September, Travel + Leisure’s Global Vision Awards winner in the “Leadership” category for its Seedlings education initiative and winner of the Condé Nast Traveler 5th Annual World Savers Awards 2011 in the “Preservation” category for its efforts and achievements in championing heritage and greening the planet. At the Singapore Corporate Awards 2011 in July, Banyan Tree Holdings received a Silver medal for both Best Annual Report and Best Managed Board. The Group’s subsidiary, Laguna Resorts & Hotels Public Company Limited, was Best Developer (Thailand) at the South East Asia Property Awards this week.
Such accomplishments would not have been possible without the leadership of Banyan Tree’s Executive Chairman, Mr Ho Kwon Ping, who was honored with Real Estate Personality of the Year 2011 at the South East Asia Property Awards in late November. Mr Ho also topped the “Thinkers” category in the Yahoo! Singapore 9 Awards in August this year, and received the Lifetime Achievement Award for Resort Development presented by the Asian Strategy and Leadership Institute at the 3rd World Chinese Economic Forum earlier this month.
“We are deeply grateful for every accolade bestowed on Banyan Tree over the years. These awards are a direct result and recognition of the spirit, enthusiasm and dedication of our over 9,000 associates around the world, and it is in their tribute that we accept them,” said Mr Ho.
