Nissan shares Cup Final excitement with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia
Nissan is continuing to deliver on its promise to renew the bond with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia by bringing the best the brand has to offer and partnering with the country’s most cherished events.
Its latest initiative saw Nissan as official Partner of the ‘Crown Prince Salman Soccer Cup’ held recently at the King Fahd International Stadium in front of His Highness Crown Prince Salman bin Abdulaziz al-Saud, Deputy Premier and Minister of Defense, who met with Samir Cherfan, Managing Director, Nissan Middle East after the match.
Prince Miqrin bin Abdulaziz, second deputy premier, Prince Khaled bin Bandar, Riyadh governor, Prince Nawwaf bin Faisal, President of Youth Welfare and Ahmad Eid, head of the Saudi Football Federation, were also in attendance.
The game, which drew a capacity 67,000 spectators and millions of TV viewers, ended in a 2-1 victory for Al Nasr against Al Hilal who were reigning champions having won the previous six Crown Prince Cup finals.
Samir Cherfan, said: “It was a privilege and honour to meet His Highness Crown Prince Salman bin Abdulaziz al-Saud, and for Nissan to be a part of the most anticipated football match of the year, which also bears his name. This most prestigious of matches typified the excitement Nissan aspires to share with the Kingdom and its people – helping enrich their lives. We committed to achieving just that when we pledged to bring the best of the Nissan brand to the Kingdom in November, and we will continue to deliver on that promise.”
Najeeb Alissa, Chairman of Alissa Auto, the authorized dealer of Nissan in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, said, “We were so keen on participating in sponsoring the final match of one of the most important football tournaments locally and regionally out of our commitment to supporting the efforts of the Saudi Arabian Football Federation and to the most popular sport in the Kingdom in addition to renewing the bond with our customers and getting closer to the young people, the most passionate fans for this lovely sport”.
Nissan and Alissa deployed a full fledge activation with prominent and innovative branding inside and outside the stadium as well as the exhibition of two New Nissan Patrol.
Nissan’s increased presence in the Kingdom follows the announcement of its midterm plan for the Kingdom at a press conference in Riyadh last November. There Nissan detailed its intention to more than triple sales in three years to over 100,000 units to achieve a market share of 12% by end of Fiscal Year 2016.
Since then, it has rapidly expanded the Nissan network through its partnership with Alissa Auto and implemented high-profile market campaigns. The most recent of those was its partnered with MBC, one of the top TV broadcasters in the Middle East, to bring the coolest youth show in Saudi Arabia, ‘Action-ha’, back to TV screens. ‘Action-ha’ has become a byword for the free spirit of the young Saudi male and Nissan’s brand of innovation and excitement makes it a perfect partner.
