Nissan Formula E Team will travel to the glamorous destination of Monte Carlo for this weekend’s Monaco E-Prix, as Season 9 of the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship enters its second half.

Norman Nato and Sacha Fenestraz will look to bounce back in the principality after a challenging weekend in Berlin. The duo is targeting good points at a venue where they’ve both had previous success across various single-seater categories throughout their junior years.

Formula E first raced in Monaco all the way back in Season 1 and was held on a shortened course for the first three years. In 2021, the series used a variation very close to the Grand Prix circuit, albeit with some minor differences, before switching to the instantly recognizable 3.337-kilometre layout in 2022.

Qualifying gets underway at 10:40 CEST (UTC +2), with the E-Prix at 15:00 CEST. Find out how to watch here.

Tommaso Volpe, managing director and team principal, Nissan Formula E Team: “Heading to Monaco is always special for anyone involved with motorsport as its decorated history makes it one of the best races on the calendar. We expect energy management to be the main talking point of the weekend due to the circuit’s many elevation changes. They are quite unusual for Formula E and will impact everyone. With that in mind, the trend of cars using the tow and not wanting to lead should continue here, so it’ll be about turning the situation into an advantage as we target good points. We’ve found some solutions to the issues we had in Berlin thanks to the good work by the crew at the Rookie Test, so our aim is to implement them effectively and be more competitive here.”

Sacha Fenestraz: “I’m very excited to race in Monaco, it’s an incredible place with such a remarkable history. I’ve never competed in an official World Championship event here, so it’s a privilege to be able to do so. It’s a track that I have a lot of fond memories of as I’ve won here twice in my junior career, so I can’t wait for the weekend to start. We had a tricky time in Berlin, but the goal is to bounce back. The Rookie Test gave us a great opportunity to find some solutions, and I’m optimistic that we’ve made progress. Our potential has been high at times this season and I aim to show that off and get back into the points as we think Monaco should suit us.”

Norman Nato: “Driving around Monaco is always a dream, I’ve lived here for many years but I still get excited every time I head out onto the circuit. It’s always a challenge to overtake, so qualifying will be more important than usual this weekend. The goal is to unlock our potential and bring home some points for the team. I’ve won here in the past in karting and in junior formula, so hopefully I can use that experience to help the squad.”
