Nokia launches Ramadan Journey competition

Nokia has announced the launch of the “Ramadan Journey” competition via its Facebook Jordan page to showcase the latest creations from the Levant’s developer community. The competition will utilize a range of mobile applications and content during the Holy Month that has been created by developers in Jordan and around the region, and which are free to download from the Nokia Store on compatible touch and non-touch Nokia devices.
Building on the popularity of last year’s Ramadan apps, this year’s offering from the Nokia Store provides a mix of practical tools and engaging applications for Nokia users to utilize throughout the month.
Available on the Nokia Store this year is the Ad3yeh app providing users with easy access to verses from the Holy Quran, while the Ash3ar app is a virtual community for people interested in reading and writing Arabic poetry.
Also offered will be a range of apps that are traditionally popular during Ramadan such as cooking apps , games like Arabic Sudoku, in addition to various content rich apps covering popular Ramadan traditional activities, jokes and famous and well known proverbs.
Nokia has a thriving developer community in the Middle East region which has witnessed significant growth in recent years especially in Jordan. Nokia’s activities this Ramadan will aim to highlight some of the great apps developed by the local community, and provide Nokia customers with a variety of interactive content and applications to keep them entertained and engaged during the Holy month of Ramadan.”
Nokia’s “Ramadan Journey” competition will post daily challenges using a certain app each day, with successful participants being entered into a draw to win various Nokia devices, including the most recent additions to the Asha range of mobile phones and the award winning Nokia 808 Pureview.
Nokia Store offers more than 120,000 apps, and currently drives more than 15 million download requests per day. It also has over 100,000 content items available for Series 40 devices, and more than 32,000 available for Nokia Asha devices. To date, Nokia Store has driven more than 5 billion cumulative downloads while 505 developers have achieved more than 1M downloads through Nokia Store.
