Trade powerhouse OCTAL received the Authorized Economic Operator Certificate (AEO) from the Directorate General of Customs, providing it with cutting-edge benefits across its supply chain. The AEO will enable OCTAL to elevate its manufacturing prowess, enhance its import and export portfolio, and increase the strategic value of itstrade managementoperations in over 140 markets worldwide. The company received the certificate as a result of its strong track record of customs compliance and security standards.

Colonel Khalifa Al Syiabi, Director General of Customs said, “OCTAL is one of the first private sector companies in Oman to obtain the Authorized Economic Operator Certificate after demonstrating a strong track record of customs compliance, processes and systems. The program is a trade facilitation measure that recognizes reliable operators and encourages best practice in the international supply chain, prevent disruptions to the flow of goods, offer local companies a competitive advantage, and most importantly, position Oman as a secure trading hub.”

The AEO program was implemented by Royal Oman Police at the Directorate General of Customs. The globally-recognized certification is in full compliance with the World Custom Organization’s (WCO) standards and the framework developed by the World Customs Organization (WCO). It was also supported by the World Trade Organization’s (WTO) Trade Facilitation Agreement, in order to create to establish strategic partnerships to ensure security within the business community and facilitate the international supply chain and global trade. Additionally, the program contributes to greater cost savings, fewer customs controls, and recognition of recipients as safe and secure business partners globally.
