OCTAL employees donate blood in support of World Blood Donor Day

As part of its ongoing commitment to engage staff in the company’s community centered programs and lead by example, OCTAL, the world’s largest producer of PET resin and sheet on a single site, recently held two on-site blood donation drives at the company headquarters. Run in partnership with the Blood Transfusion Services Team from the Sultan Qaboos Hospital and the Ministry of Health’s Salalah branch, OCTAL employees donated blood to mark World Blood Donor Day, held annually on June 14^th to raise awareness of the growing need for clean blood supplies at hospitals and blood banks across the Sultanate. 

Organized by the World Health Organization, this year will be the 10^th anniversary of World Blood Donor Day under the slogan ‘Give the Gift of Life: Donate Blood’. The global event serves to encourage people from around the world to volunteer their blood to save someone else’s life or help others live longer and more productive lives.
