In celebration of Earth Hour 2014, Oman Oil Marketing Company (omanoil) hosted fun-filled, eco-conscious activities in the dark at MGM to educate visitors and especially children on the value of proactive behavior for the conservation of the planet. Joining the largest voluntary global movement, omanoil also switched off all non-essential power sources at its head office in Muscat from 8.30pm to 9.30pm on the 29th of March.

“We took the Earth Hour pledge to make change a reality and encourage action through practice,” said Engr. Faisal Al Shanfari, omanoil General Manager of Corporate Affairs, HR and Administration, Procurement and HSSE. “We believe that the power of one can result in a collective effort towards realizing a common goal. Leading by example, we hoped to instill this belief amongst the youth at a young age so that they carry it with them throughout their lives and inspire others to follow in their footsteps.”

omanoil will continue to raise awareness with eco-friendly practices and participate in worldwide initiatives that will preserve the planet for generations to come.
