Oman's first budget airline SalamAir is set to launch daily flights to Dubai International Airport (DXB) from its hub in Muscat starting from October 8 with a special introductory RO49 ($126) all-inclusive return ticket offer.

The new route will complement SalamAir’s current flight to Al Maktoum International Airport until October 28 when the airline has set plans re-route all flights to DXB, said a statement from the Omani airline.

SalamAir will be operating daily morning and evening services to and from Terminal 2 with the first flight departing Muscat at 8.30am and departing Dubai at 10.50am. The evening flight is scheduled to take off from Muscat at 5.30pm, while the flight from Dubai will depart for the Sultanate’s capital at 8pm.

CEO Captain Mohamed Ahmed said the addition of flights to DXB was in response to guests’ requests and the growing demand for an affordable alternative to this popular destination.

"Dubai International Airport is one of the most prominent hubs in the region and we are in negotiations with some of the city’s tourism and business attraction to offer our guests even more value-added services. This new route will not only capitalize on Dubai’s wider international network and economic position but also further increase the connectivity between Oman and the UAE," observed Ahmed.

"We are constantly striving to provide choice and flexibility to our guests and are committed to enhancing our service offering, allowing more people to fly more often, without compromising on quality and comfort," he added.

SalamAir has negotiated with the management of Dubai International Airport and respective authorities for the past few months to secure suitable time-slots for the airline in the airport’s busy schedule.

Providing added convenience and efficiency to travelers, Terminal 2 will allow SalamAir’s guests to go from arrivals to the city within 15 minutes.

Operating a fleet of A320s, the airline’s schedule includes flights to Salalah, Suhar, Jeddah, Dubai, Sialkot and Karachi.
