Marking the conclusion of the 11th annual Goodwill Journey, Ooredoo’s Ambassadors returned to Muscat after travelling more than 4,000 kilometers on a voyage of compassion across the Sultanate. Brought to an end at Ooredoo headquarters in Muscat Grand Mall, the Journey wrapped up when the 23 Ooredoo family volunteers were welcomed home at a special ceremony held under the patronage of H.H. Sayyid Kamil bin Fahad Al Said, the Assistant Secretary General of the Deputy Prime Minster Office for Cabinet Affairs.

Divided into two parts, the 11th Goodwill Journey travelled to 10 cities across the Northern, Interior, Eastern and Southern Governorates of Oman, organising skills development initiatives and providing necessary learning tools as well as donations that will sustain community programmes for years to come. Ooredoo’s aim is to spur human growth and empower women and communities to do better and to make a real difference to peoples’ lives. Volunteers from the Ooredoo family dedicated their effort and time to bring the Journey to yet another successful conclusion and bring smiles to the faces of those in need.

The second leg of the Ooredoo Goodwill Journey which started from Muscat, saw the volunteers driving south, stopping in Qurayyat, Masirah Island, and Duqm before reaching Sadah in the Governorate of Dhofar. Ooredoo ambassadors distributed gifts to local children, provided funding and supported to the Omani Women’s Associations and brought the joys of Qaranqasho to children for the very first time.

During their visit to Sadah, Ooredoo’s family volunteers were welcomed by members of the Omani Women’s Associations who held a variety of activities to commemorate the 11th Goodwill Journey, including a showcase of products made by members of the organisation. Volunteers also distributed funds to support long term education, skills training programmes, and develop a culture of sustainability.

Building on the learning from the past 10 years, Ooredoo designed this year’s Goodwill Journey to leave a long-term impact and feed into our new CSR platform which will come to be known as Ooredoo Goodwill. Focusing on women, entrepreneurial skills-development, Islamic culture and supporting families and communities across Oman, Oordeoo Goodwill is a programme that will extend beyond the Holy Month of Ramadan.

Giving up precious time with their families, Ooredoo’s fasting volunteers have been able to touch the lives of many people across Oman this year, spreading the message of mercy on a journey that covered thousands of kilometers and took them through every region of Oman.
