Ooredoo Graduates 8th Springboard Wave and First Spring Forward Leaders
Continuing to empower local talents with the skills they need to lead successful and rewarding careers, Ooredoo graduated 71 women from the 8th edition of its Springboard programme and 157 graduates from Spring-Forward for both men and women from its digital entrepreneurship and leadership programme, Spring Forward. Held under the patronage of H.H. Sayyid Marwan bin Turki Al Said, the ceremony saw participants from both modules competed against one another to be amongst the top graduating projects in addition to winning the coveted People’s Choice awards for Springboard and Spring-Forward.
Ian Dench, CEO at Ooredoo said, “We are so incredibly proud of this new wave of graduates. These modules are not easy and have been carefully designed to provide Oman’s national talent-pool with the skillsets and knowledge they need to successfully climb the corporate ladder. A key contributor to the growth and development of Oman, we have a responsibility to nurture the country’s talent by identifying ways where we can create long lasting value and positively impact their future through coaching and mentoring.”
Dench added, “Until today, we have enabled over 1,300 females from various government entities through our women empowerment programme Springboard and are very confident that our recently launched Spring Forward programme will build on this success and see thousands more reap its benefits.”
Conducted in collaboration with the British Council and Springboard Consultancy UK, Springboard was designed by women for women. A three-month long program, it consists of a number of components including workshops that tackle subjects such as confidence building, goal setting, networking, work-life balance and key business skills. Following the success of Springboard, Ooredoo launched its first male and female digital entrepreneurship and leadership programme Spring Forward, with a focus on management and career growth. It aims to further develop the strengths of its participants by coaching them how to be more aware, build team working skills, and demonstrate the required leadership competencies to rise to the top.
This year’s batches of both programmes saw highly motivated candidates looking to drive change work closely with industry leaders and licensed trainers to develop viable digital projects that can be implemented on a large scale.
