Ooredoo showcases CSR strategy at GUST

Ooredoo Kuwait, a member of international Ooredoo Group, has recently showcased its corporate social responsibility strategy through ‘The Cause’ conference, organized by Gulf University for Science and Technology (GUST). The conference took place at the university’s campus between 10 and 14 April 2016.

The conference focused on public relations and advertising, with an emphasis on corporate social responsibility where fifteen guest speakers from participating organizations presented their case studies and experiences. Representing Ooredoo Kuwait, Sarah Al-Qabandi, Senior Specialist - CSR & Sponsorships has showcased Ooredoo’s 2015/2016 CSR strategy and major achievements in a discussion panel where she was also able to answer questions of eager students who wanted to have a better and clearer understanding of CSR and sponsorships opportunities.

Commenting on the sponsorship, Ooredoo stated: “We believe that we have a responsibility to manage and leverage our resources to be beneficial to the Kuwaiti youth. Our participation in this conference is proof of our effective movement toward our goal of raising the awareness of the importance of CSR between the upcoming generations.”

‘The Cause’ is the result of joint efforts between students and faculty’s department of Mass Communication and Media (MCM). It is organized jointly with the student Media Club and the PR Club, as well as dozens of student volunteers and others enrolled in several MCM courses.
