Ooredoo continues to support the weekly ‘Souq es Sabt’ (or Saturday market) in Salalah.

In the spirit of giving back to the community, Ooredoo continues to support the weekly ‘Souq es Sabt’ (or Saturday market) in Salalah. In collaboration with the Omani Bahjah Orphan Society and the Sultanate’s biggest real-estate company, Muriya, 14 entrepreneurial families have been provided with the opportunity to showcase and sell their products, which include handicraft pieces, local foods, traditional clothes, crafts and other items. It also helps them to build their customer base and connect with buyers from all over the world who visit Salalah.

The Souq es Sabt initiative in Salalah was announced during the 15th Ooredoo Goodwill Journey, translating the company’s passion to create a platform that provides orphans and their families with the support they need to enhance their way of living. Today, the telecoms company works closely with the local community to instil and strengthen the culture of entrepreneurship, and drive income creation opportunities to benefit society at large.
