Ooredoo Wins COMEX Excellence in Technology Award for Data Centre

Forging its path as a data and tech leader, Ooredoo has bagged the COMEX Excellence in Technology Award 2022 for its state-of-the-art Data Centre. Announced during the COMEX Technology Show at the Oman Exhibition and Convention Centre, the award recognised the facility’s success in advancing Ooredoo’s own operations, while propelling Oman’s digital transformation, broadening internet accessibility and strengthening digital communications across the country. 

Dr. Ahmed Abdullah Al-Abri, Chief Technology and Information Officer at Ooredoo, said “We opened our latest facility in Bousher in 2021, which ranks as a Tier 3 Plus data centre in Oman. It represents a major breakthrough in hosting and data processing, and has set the foundations for the development of transformative technologies such as 5G, cloud services, IoT, and other high-potential, high-growth areas.”

Meanwhile, as data experience leaders, Ooredoo continues to keep up with the evolving digital requirements of its customers, offering everything from cloud storage to customisable and scalable solutions that fit changing business requirements. With the Data Centre as the backbone of this strategy, it is already stacking up the awards, having previously won at the COMEX Excellence in Big Data & Analytics Awards 2021 and named "Best Network Readiness - Data Centre services Oman 2021" at the US-based World Economic Magazine Awards.
