Open-Ear Audio Sounds Better Than Ever with HUAWEI FreeClip 2

Open-ear audio has been a solution to the isolation of traditional earbuds. Instead of blocking out the surroundings, they embrace the ambience. There is more than one way to do open ear, though. The classic bone-conduction and ear hooks have been staples for a while now. Among all of those, the C-bridge design of the FreeClip has proven to be quite popular for the right reasons. Now in its second generation, the new HUAWEI FreeClip 2 sets new benchmarks for open-ear audio for comfort, sound quality, and features.

Lightweight comfort

The C-bridge design of the FreeClip 2 effectively makes it an accessory, much like earrings. Clipping onto your ears without sealing your ear canal, these lightweight earbuds leave you almost unaware that you are wearing them. At only 5.1 grams, the FreeClip 2 weighs 9% less than the previous generation. A new skin-friendly liquid silicone and shape-memory alloy improve flexibility and softness, ensuring a comfortable fit even after several hours of wearing them. Even under intense activities like dancing, running, or gymnastics, the FreeClip 2 does not ever slip off your ears.

Visually, the fine-textured surface and acoustic ball and comfort bean with a high-gloss metallic finish add a premium touch. Offered in blue, white, and black colourways, it can also complement a range of outfits.

Another major upgrade is seen in the charging case itself. It is 17% smaller than the last gen by width and also much lighter, while also packing a larger capacity battery. Much of the reduction in size comes from the new overlapping placement of the earbuds within the case. Both the earbuds and the charging case have anti-stain properties, and most stains and dirt can be easily wiped away.

More volume, enhanced bass

Having undergone a comprehensive upgrade in the acoustic system, the FreeClip 2 now features an innovative dual-diaphragm driver. The result is a significant boost in sound volume and improved low-frequency performance. Whether it’s a heavy bassline or complex instrumentation, the earbuds let you experience the fine details that make music feel alive. The enhanced bass response is a game-changer for rock and jazz lovers, offering a smooth, natural crossover between highs and lows for a richer, more textured audio.

The earbuds can dynamically detect surrounding noise in real time and automatically adjust the volume to match the current environment. When you step out to a noisy street, the earbuds use adaptive voice enhancement to boost the clarity of human voices. This makes it easier to listen to audiobooks or watch videos without missing a thing. And when you return to a quiet environment, the earbuds will adjust the volume level to ensure comfortable listening.

Built for clear calls

To deliver clear call quality in noisy environments such as streets, restaurants, and subways, the FreeClip 2 earbuds are equipped with a three-microphone call noise-cancellation system. Working together with noise-reduction algorithms, the system intelligently detects and suppresses background noise in public spaces, ensuring your voice comes through clearly on every call. Preserving finer voice details while more accurately identifying and filtering out environmental noise, they give you a clearer, more natural voice quality.

Endurance for everyday use

With up to 38 hours of total playback with a fully charged case, you can enjoy music throughout your daily commute on a single charge. The earbuds alone will give you up to 9 hours of use on a full charge. The FreeClip 2 also supports 3C fast charging. Just 10 minutes in the charging case delivers up to 3 hours of music playback, ensuring your earbuds are always ready for daily commutes.

Rated IP57 for sweat and water resistance and featuring a water-resistant microphone, the FreeClip 2 is built to handle sweat and water splashes and is easy to clean. You can even wear them in the rain or even during intense, sweat-soaked workouts.

Smart controls and dual-device connection

Gesture controls on the FreeClip 2 give you a range of convenient options. A double-tap lets you answer or end calls, or play and pause music. In the companion app, you can customise this gesture to skip to the next or previous track, wake the voice assistant, or disable it altogether. A triple-tap skips to the next track by default.

With swipe controls, you can adjust the volume by swiping up or down. This shortcut can also be customised to control track playback or disabled in the app. Head-motion controls allow you to simply nod to answer a call or shake your head to reject it, giving you hands-free control.

HUAWEI FreeClip 2 supports dual-device connections with seamless auto-switching across iOS, Android, and Windows. When connected to EMUI devices, you can easily switch audio between more than two devices, giving you a new level of flexibility.
