These projects include the USD 771 million modernization of the Dhofar power plant; the USD 120 million Salalah port development project; the USD 5 billion Salalah Freezone development project and the construction of the USD 1 billion medical city that will house the First Regional Multispecialty Organ Transplant & Rehabilitation Centre of Excellence.
“Oman is on a strategic journey towards positioning itself as a premiere investment and tourist destination,” said Rizwan Sajan, Founder and Chairman, Danube Building Materials. “The race towards development is evident in the growing number of development projects currently being implemented in the country, particularly in strategic gateways like seaports and airports. In line with this, we are looking towards taking advantage of this growth by heavily promoting our extensive line of building materials across these ongoing projects and ultimately be a part of the country’s move towards economic prosperity.”
Danube opened its first B2B Building Materials showroom in Salalah last August, which was also the leading company’s 31st showroom in the world and its third in Oman. The new retail facility is strategically located in the heart of Salalah and measures at 60,000 square feet and features key building products like wood, steel, ceramic tiles, flooring, electrical, hardware materials and sanitary ware.
“We have maintained a strong presence in Oman for the last 11 years, giving us the advantage of having wide knowledge and understanding of the Omani market. We are confident that our three retail showrooms will be strategic complements to the many projects that are happening in the country, ably providing customers with the necessary materials needed in building world class facilities and infrastructure. We are also looking to recruit more Omani nationals in support of the government’s initiative to provide more employment opportunities for locals. Rest assured, we will continue to be partners in the unified efforts to usher in key growth for Oman and the rest of the region,” concluded Sajan.
