PepsiCo-Jordan Corporate sponsor of From the Lowest Point to the Highest Point for Cancer Expedition

PepsiCo-Jordan announced that it has signed a sponsorship agreement with the 'From the Lowest Point to the Highest Point for Cancer' Expedition. By virtue of the agreement, which positions PepsiCo-Jordan as the Expedition’s Corporate Sponsor, the Company will actively contribute to the King Hussein Cancer Centre’s (KHCC) expansion project. In the presence of several members of the Expedition’s team, PepsiCo East Med and Africa HR Director Sufian Al Salman handed a branded PepsiCo-Jordan flag to the Expedition’s team leader Mostafa Salameh, to be planted atop Mount Everest.
“Supporting this initiative is in line with national efforts to raise funds towards the KHCC’s expansion project. It emphasizes PepsiCo-Jordan’s unwavering commitment to the fight against cancer and corresponds with our goal to provide patients who are battling the disease with optimal treatment. This agreement is geared towards further enhancing our sense of belonging to and close kinship with the local community,” stated Al Salman.
In turn, Salameh commented, “I would like to thank PepsiCo-Jordan for its genuine interest in supporting the 'From the Lowest Point to the Highest Point for Cancer' Expedition. This significant contribution brings us one step closer to fulfilling our goal to build two new buildings three times as large as the KHCC’s current premises, thus increasing its capacity to treat a larger number of cancer patients in Jordan and across the region, providing them with the best possible medical care and reducing the number of patients waiting for treatment.”
Slated to commence on Saturday 30th March, 2013, the 'From the Lowest Point to the Highest Point for Cancer' Expedition will be led by Mostafa Salameh, the first Jordanian to reach the summit of Mount Everest and an active advocate for numerous charitable causes. The initiative's team of 20 prominent Jordanians is undergoing intensive training to prepare them for their challenging journey from the lowest point on Earth, the Dead Sea, to nearly the highest point on Earth, the Base Camp of Mount Everest, which stands at 5,334 meters (17,500 feet).

Pepsi Cola International
In 1965, Donald Kendall, the CEO of Pepsi-Cola, and Herman Lay, the CEO of Frito-Lay, recognized what they called “a marriage made in heaven,” a single company delivering perfectly-salty snacks served alongside the best cola on earth. Their vision led to what quickly became one of the world's leading food and beverage companies: PepsiCo.
For more than 50 years, as tastes, trends and lifestyles have changed, PepsiCo has evolved with them. Our willingness to adapt and grow has transformed our snack and soda company into a collection of global brands including Pepsi and Quaker, Gatorade and Tropicana, Frito-Lay and beyond. Today, PepsiCo is one of the world’s most-respected companies with products sold in more than 200 countries and territories and 22 brands that generate more than $1 billion each in estimated annual retail sales.
