PepsiCo-Jordan Hosts Eid Al-Fitr Celebration for Orphaned Children

In celebration of Eid Al-Fitr, PepsiCo-Jordan hosted an event for 200 children from different orphanages across the Kingdom for the 10th year in a row. Continuing its annual tradition of engaging with less-fortunate children as part of its corporate social responsibility (CSR) program, the Company’s Eid Al-Fitr festivities were held at the Zaha Cultural Center on the second day of Eid.
Bringing joy and affection to the hearts of children, a number of PepsiCo-Jordan employees volunteered to help draw a smile on children’s faces and share with them the festivities of Eid. During the event, PepsiCo-Jordan staff took part in recreational, artistic and educational activities, including competitions, games, face-painting and balloon shaping, sharing this fun and educational experience with the children. Employees also had lunch together with the children after which they distributed toys and gifts as a memento of the special day, where they came together as a family to celebrate the holiday.
“Though Ramadan has ended, PepsiCo-Jordan’s philanthropy is limitless. We strive to continually uphold our social responsibility towards the local community, especially less-fortunate children. As such, we have celebrated Eid Al-Fitr with orphaned children for the 10th consecutive year, emphasizing our belief that they should be able to enjoy the holiday and its festive atmosphere, just as other children do,” said Eng. Nidal Hamam, General Manager of PepsiCo-Jordan.

Pepsi Cola International
In 1965, Donald Kendall, the CEO of Pepsi-Cola, and Herman Lay, the CEO of Frito-Lay, recognized what they called “a marriage made in heaven,” a single company delivering perfectly-salty snacks served alongside the best cola on earth. Their vision led to what quickly became one of the world's leading food and beverage companies: PepsiCo.
For more than 50 years, as tastes, trends and lifestyles have changed, PepsiCo has evolved with them. Our willingness to adapt and grow has transformed our snack and soda company into a collection of global brands including Pepsi and Quaker, Gatorade and Tropicana, Frito-Lay and beyond. Today, PepsiCo is one of the world’s most-respected companies with products sold in more than 200 countries and territories and 22 brands that generate more than $1 billion each in estimated annual retail sales.
